Final Fantasy VII is an ambitious retelling that updates its systems and story for the modern era. The new battle system is fantastic and does a superb job of blending strategy and action.

In general, it's a good game and the best part of it is its interesting story and great characters. Despite that, I think that there are lots of mechanics (above all the combat system) which feel sooo clunky and archaic.

Final Fantasy VII Remake manages to balance the introduction of new concepts with faithfully recreations of the original game’s most memorable aspects, but it also unnecessarily pads out this first installment in a larger story with too much downtime between its most striking moments.

The party escapes the Shinra Building and races down the highway. Behind them, countless Whispers have engulfed Midgar. The team cuts through the obstacles and charges down the roadway that leads to the unknown.

While no release date for the third and final installment has been mentioned, we likely won't be waiting quite as long to see how the story ends. Creative director Tetsuya Nomura stated the team is already working on part three.
